A former White House and U.S. Department of Justice official, and a former federal prosecutor and trial attorney, Jordan's law practice is almost exclusively focused on clients navigating significant risks.
After clerking for a federal judge in Philadelphia, Jordan began his legal career as a trial attorney with the United States Justice Department's (DOJ) Civil Division, having joined through the Attorney General's Honors Program. He was responsible for the investigation and litigation of a wide variety of complex civil fraud, False Claims Act, and Anti-Kickback Act cases. He led or co-led cases that recovered over $100 million for taxpayers.
Jordan then became the first Director of Preparedness and Response for the DOJ's National Security Division providing regular counsel to the DOJ's senior leadership while focusing on matters pertaining to national security law, national policy, and emergency response. He helped coordinate the response to several high-profile events.
From DOJ, Jordan joined the staff of the White House National Security Council, where he was Director for Incident Management. His responsibilities included managing a variety of sensitive national security policy matters and supporting the operational needs of the president and senior national security leadership.
Jordan departed the White House for Kabul, Afghanistan, where he served as Deputy Justice Attaché and Senior Legal Adviser. In this role, Jordan was responsible for the Department's counter-corruption portfolio and supported criminal justice, anti-money laundering and national security capacity-building efforts by working with prosecutors, judges and law enforcement professionals across the country, focusing particularly on the Kabul Bank fraud and subsequent collapse.
Jordan concluded his federal service as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Philadelphia, PA, where he helped prosecute a variety of cases.
Over the course of his federal career, Jordan has received several awards for outstanding achievement, including the DOJ's Expeditionary Service Award, the General Services Administration Inspector General Award, and on multiple occasions, DOJ's Special Achievement Award.
Jordan has focused his practice on helping clients navigate existential risks to their business, themselves, or to their ability to pursue new opportunities. Jordan regularly advises on investigative, geo-political, and national security issues, and is often asked to speak with the media and public on current events.
Jordan is a member of the Board of Trustees of Hampshire College, his alma mater, where he has chaired the Audit, Risk, and Management committee, the Trusteeship and Governance Committee, and is currently Vice Chair. He is a Director of Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and has also served as pro bono counsel to several artists and arts organizations, including as outside counsel for an internationally known Grammy-award winning music ensemble.
Jordan designed and teaches "National Security Law," an advanced seminar at Drexel University's Kline School of Law, and previously taught at American University's Washington College of Law.
